Payton was not thrilled that we would not be home for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. He didn't understand why we had to go to grandma's house. He wanted everyone to come to our house. We tried talking to him, but he just didn't have a good reason. We talked more and came up with a compromise that would work for us all. We asked if it would make him happy if we had our own little Christmas the day before we left to go to grandmas and the kids would be able to open there gifts from under the tree. He was happy with his idea. So that is what we did. He had a special dinner on Monday night, opened the presents from under the tree. It ended up not being too amazing because Josh, Payton and Mckinley all ended up getting sick Sunday, Monday and Tuesday so there wasn't a ton of excitement going on. I felt very bad that they were all sick. It was sad to see them trying so hard to be excited, but they just felt horrible and had high fevers.
Opening their gifts
Payton got this from Josh and I so once he was feeling better by Tuesday morning he spent the morning assembling his legos. He did it all himself!!!
We got all loaded in the car and headed to meet Josh in Sacramento and then drove up to Oroville.
We spent Christmas Eve at the Aunt's house. We reenacted the nativity, we played bingo, we ate, and we opened presents.
Mckinley enjoyed helping Grandma Robertson play the piano.

Opening gifts
That night we went back to Grandma and Grandpa Robertson's house. The kids got to open their one gift which was pajamas.
The girls got princess night gowns and Payton got ninja turtle shirt and pants.

Reading for bed so Santa could come.
Christmas Eve was a lot of fun and we loved being able to be with Grandma and Grandpa Robertson.
