Monterey Beach

After spending the morning at the Monterey Bay Aquarium we went and got some lunch then headed to the beach. It was such a beautiful day. The sun was out, it wasn't windy and the kids loved it. My friend Melanie took these first few pictures. She is such a good photographer. Scarlett LOVED the ocean!!! Josh made the mistake of taking her down to the water and putting her feet it. We thought for sure she would think it was too cold, but NOPE  she loved it. Every time either one of us would bring her back up to everyone else she would just turn around and run towards the water. It was very cute to watch.
I love this picture because it shows you how much Scarlett loved the water.
The water was a little cold, but once your toes were nub you didn't even notice
She is just such a cute little girl!
By the end her leggings and shirt were all wet!
This was when we first got to the beach!
Payton and Austin eating their Mc Donald's for lunch
Before she new about the water
Payton is pretty funny! He isn't quite as adventures as his sister, but he loved playing in the sand with his friends.
The kids playing while Lo digs them a hole!
This  little girl was very sandy and yucky!
Payton was very sandy himself and thats from him throwing sand on himself.
Scarlett wanted in on the sand castle building fun
Showing us how her hands are very sandy!
Mommy and Scarlett
While Mapuana and Mo were out playing in the water with their dad Payton stayed clear of the water and played in the sand by himself. At this point Austin and Ryan had already left to head home.
One of the many times chasing Scarlett as she escapes to the water
Payton, Mo, and Mapuana
Here they are again just playing. Scarlett got in on the fun
Payton throwing sand
Right near the end Payton came up to me and asked if he could take his pants off and go in the water with his underwear on. I am pretty sure its cause he was done watching everyone else getting their feet wet. He touched the water and was done, but I made him be there for a quick picture.
Scarlett found Payton's happy meal and decided she was hungry. She ate his hamburger and some fries.
While Scarelett was eating Payton's food he took some fries from her and he and Josh were feeding the seagulls. Payton really enjoyed that. Josh taught him to chase them also.
This is a neat picture because you see Payton in action. He is running after the seagull and the seagull is flying away.
On our way home to stopped in Santa Cruz to find some dinner. We really wanted some kind of fish but every place was really busy and had a long wait so we just went to some little place. It was actually not bad. It was a local place I don't remember the name. These are the best pictures I could get of Josh and I with the kids.
We had such a fun weekend and can't wait to go again!

Monterey Aquarium

A few weeks ago we had the privilege of getting to go to Monterey with some of our friends. There was us, the Drinkwater Family, and Toutai Family. We had such a wonderful time. We got a hotel for Friday night. The kids and I got to drive down with the Drinkwater Family since Josh was just going to meet us down there once he got off work. We got down there and the Toutai's got there shortly after us. The kids were SO excited. They ran back and forth between two of the rooms for about and hour. I think they were just so glad to be out of the car and were so excited to be at a hotel with their friends. We ordered  pizza that night then headed down to the pool and hot tub. The kids loved the water. Everyone got in the pool except Me, Krista, Mel, Josh and Scar. The rest were crazy because it was too cold! We all though did love the hot tub. We just sat in there and relaxed it was so nice!
I wasn't sure if Scar would like the hot water, but she really didn't mind. Near the end we let her stand on her own by the stairs and she loved the freedom. She would climb out then climb back in.
Payton was the last to get in the hot tub. He refused for a really long time saying it was too hot. Finally near the end when he was really freezing he got in the hot tub and refused to get out. He loved it once he got it!
I had left Scar's swim diapers in the car Josh had and he hadn't gotten to us until after we were already down swimming in the pool, so I just kept Scar's regular diaper on her under her swimsuit. As you can see from this picture the diaper was huge after about and hour and a half of being in the water. The best part was when we got into the hotel room to get her cleaned off the diaper had exploded in her swimsuit.  If you have seen an exploded diaper you know how nasty they are. It got everywhere. I felt kind of bad cause the sink got a little clogged. After swimming our friends got a call from their  home security people and they were told that their house had got broken into. That was not a fun situation for them. Luckily they only stole their laptop. They almost decided to leave and head back home, but thankful they decided to just stay.
Saturday morning we woke up and got ready for our day at the Monterey Aquarium and the Beach.
Walking to the Aquarium on Cannery Row
Getting our tickets!
The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the different animals. Payton was done of course after about 30 minutes. Scarlett had to desire to stay in the stroller. She just wanted to be out and run free.
Octopus
Scarlett was trying to get the fish. It was very cute to watch!
Payton and Mo pushing buttons.
Scar wasn't sure about this thing in the wall.
Scarletts first time touching a star fish. Payton refused to touch anything in the water.
Jelly Fish
Sea Horse
Scarlett was so happy to be able to run free
Another Sea Horse
I can never get a good picture of Payton
My family does not look at the camera when I am trying to take pictures.
These two just sat on the ground for a while and played with these rocks that were glued to this statue of a cow
Payton inside a tunnel looking at the sea turtles
Can't do anything without a wrestling match occurring. Payton and Scarlett do this daily!
The kiddos with the Penguin Statue
This little girl makes the funniest faces!
In the kids area they had this little trampoline and Scarlett LOVED it. She would just run around, fall, roll, and didn't care if there was other kids in her way. She thinks she is such big stuff!
Payton with this funny Sea Horse costume.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium was a fun experience! It was a ton of fun being able to enjoy that with our friends!
