School starts SO early here. Payton started school on August 9th. He is so big! Josh took the day off work so that he and I could both take Payton to his first day of kindergarten. Jared, Ashley and Ada were here so we were able to leave the girls home with them.
Payton on his 1st day of Kindergarten at Mossdale Elementary.
Scarlett of course wanted a picture of her. She couldn't handle Payton getting all the attention.
These two are super cute together. These pictures show just how much Scarlett loves her big brother and looks up to him!
We don't live too far from the school so Josh and I were able to walk Payton to school.
He was so excited!
We talked on the way there all about how fun kindergarten would be. He was a little nervous once we got to the school and he saw all the kids running around.
We got to his classroom and he had to find his name tag. We stood outside for a little bit, until the teacher opened the door
The kids all found a seat at a table.
a little nervous and unsure
All the kids were about the same. They were quiet, and had a look on their face that this was all a little weird. It was very cute to watch. Surprisingly most the kids were good and not really crying.
Josh giving Payton his last little pep talk before the parents were asked to leave.
Ms. Petyo had all the kids find a square on the rug and they were told to sit criss cross apple sauce. Payton didn't know what that was, but he figured it out.
Beautiful Mckinley hanging out on the bed while Payton was at school!
6 weeks old
After Payton got out of school we went and picked him up and headed to Chili's for lunch. He was very excited to tell us all about school and the things they learned. Its been a little over 2 weeks now and he is still loving school. He isn't the best at writing, but he knows a ton. Last week his teacher informed me that he isn't finishing all his work in class because he is a piddler. I wasn't surprised one bit. He does that at home all the time. Josh and I talked to him about it and he has been working on it every day since. He is doing a lot better. His goal every day is for Ms Petyo to NOT have to say, "Payton get busy". He got his first homework packed yesterday and we was excited to show me. It is not the funnest to try and get him to sit there and do his work. Like I said he isn't the best at writing so he doesn't like to do it and he doesn't want to hear me telling him how to write. I hope it gets easier, but I am not completely counting on it. He is a really good boy and loves walking to school every day! He has started riding his bike now. He's still a little wobbly on it and he hit the fence last week, but he is getting better the more times he rides.
It's a little weird that I have a kid in school, but I am enjoying it. Scarlett enjoys her time with just me and Mckinley. She gets to be the boss and pick any show she wants to watch. Kindergarten has been a success. Looking forward to the next 20 years of school life.
