Sand Dunes and Egin Lakes

Near the end of our trip we spent part of a day out at Egin Lakes and the Sand Dunes. Kristas parents had brought some quads for everyone to ride out on the sand dunes.(I don't think I have mentioned yet, but Kristas family was out there for Megans graduation from BYU-Idao. Thats a big reason we were in Idaho.) It was a lot of fun. Payton refused to go on the quads. He says they are too scary and loud. He just wanted to stay at the trailer. After being at the trailer for a while we walked down to the water so the kids could play.
Payton hanging out with me in the trailer while people were out on the quads.
Payton really enjoyed playing in the water. It wasn't deep at all and they could walk out far and have no problems. We had brought these plastic cups for them to play with and they really enjoyed  playing with them in the water and the sand.

Payton started out dumping the water out on his head, but then started dumping it on Austin

Look at these two playing so nicely with each other!

Oh wait, but the niceness couldn't last for too long. Payton  had to start chasing Austin around while trying to dump his cup of water on him.

Austin didn't really love it!

Look at that evil look!
Payton really enjoyed playing in the sand/dirt. By the time we left his head was caked in sand/dirt. He was rubbing it all over himself. I figured he was having so much fun I would just let him.

Scarlett even got in for a little bit and enjoyed the water, then she slept for the rest of the time.

Before we were done for the day Kristas mom and sister helped watch all the kids so that Krista and I could go out for a ride. I have never been on a quad before so this was a first for me. Initially it took me a little bit to get used to it and I didn't go too fast, but I got braver as the time went on. It was a lot of fun. I was glad we got to go out even for a little bit.

Like I said at the beginning Payton wanted nothing to do with the quads. But right before we left I was able to get him to at least sit on one. It wasn't on of course and he was still very nervous, but I was proud he at least got on.
I would say all around it was an amazing trip. One I will never forget. The kids were great and I know they had a lot of fun. I am glad Krista agreed to take this adventure with me and my kids. She is really a great friend.  I had so much fun!
