Scarlett is 2!!!

Scarlett turned 2 on March 1st. I can't believe she is already 2, granted the majority of the time she acts like a 4 year old! She definitely is one of a kind. She is a huge blessing in our family. There are many times when she has her tantrums and she can test our patients, but even then it only takes a few minutes and then she is doing something cute and you can't help but smile and laugh.
The day began with a cute little video on the computer from Josh. She loved watching the video. Josh basically told her he loved her, happy birthday, he wishes he didn't have to work, and he can't wait to come home and celebrate her birthday with her.
She got to have a mini cupcake in the morning and Payton and I sang to her. She loved the attention!
The plan was to go to the park after lunch with friends and have cupcakes, but an hour before it started raining so we didn't get to go. Instead we took cupcakes over to some friends house. We stayed and played at the Drinkwater's house for a little bit.
Before we headed out I wanted to take a few pictures of Scarlett. I put her in this adorable skirt that she had gotten from her cousin at christmas time and she insisted on wearing the wings that go with. She knows what she wants!!!!
There is no question that we all adore her. I hear Payton tell me at least once a day that Scarlett is so cute. This usually comes with him rubbing her head. It's very sweet and cute. He loves her very much. They  are playing more and more together all the time. They still torture each other a couple times a day, but I hear a lot more laughter than screams these days.
Once Josh was home from work we ate dinner and then get to skype with grandma and grandpa Cambra. They watched her open her presents. Payton couldn't resist helping her with every gift and telling her what it is and what it does.
Grandma and Grandpa Cambra gave her this Barbie bike. She was very excited!!! She and Payton have been riding bikes in the garage and in the house. She always tried to take his bike, so I knew the solution to this problem was she needed a bike of her own.
About a month before her birthday Payton taught her how to peddle on her little tricycle. We were not sure if she would be able to ride such a big bike, but of course she got right on and it has taken a few days, but she can now steer, peddle, and ride all by herself. She doesn't brake, but I can tell she is learning that gradually the more she rides her bike.
We all sang happy birthday to her and she had A bite of her cupcake and then she was back onto her bike.
I am pretty sure she had a great birthday! We got to skype with Aunt Stef and cousin Sofia that evening and also Uncle Danny and Aunt Jacie. We really love skyping in our home. It's been the best thing ever with the fact that all Mal's family lives in Utah.

A few facts about Scarlett are...
She can say just about anything and everything
She adores Payton and wants to be just like him, she is his little shadow
She knows what she wants and if she doesn't get it you will know she is unhappy
She is still way attached to pacifier
She is completely potty trained
When she needs to go to the bathroom she will grab herself and say "ouch"
She likes to say "you do it", or "I do it"
She loves Dora and Princess's
She isn't very good at getting her hair done if it's not something she wants to do.
She loves having us read to her
She sleeps with Payton in his room on the bottom bunk
She is really good at making attitude faces
She is such a big helper when she wants to
She gets super excited when Josh gets home from work and runs out the door yelling "daddy home"
She cries every Sunday when we drop her off to her nursery class
She loves cheese, banana's, juice, chocolate milk, apples, cereal, eggs, and yogurt
Every morning she wants a drink first thing, which is always warm chocolate milk
She calls all Payton's Star Wars and GI Joe guys "bad guys"
She surprises us all the time with the new things she continually learns either on her own or from Payton
We sure do love Scarlett so much! We are very lucky to have her as a member of our family.

BYU Basketball Game

Last Saturday we enjoyed our afternoon which consisted of being with friends and family and watching a BYU basketball game against Santa Clara. We all had a great time.
Before we left Mikila pulled out her BYU cougar tattoos and offered them to everyone. Payton loved this idea! Mikila, Josh, Payton, and Michael are the only ones that wore a tattoo. Dad, me, and Scarlett chickened out.
We got to the game about an hour early so we just hung out. We all watched both teams practice out on the court.
Michael, JOsh, Dad, Payton and Scarlett. An hour was quite a long time to wait with the kids. By the time the game started they were already getting antsy.
Scarlett  and Mommy!
Anytime it would get really loud Payton would cover his ears and Scarlett would of course follow after him. They were pretty cute to watch.
The game was a lot of fun. We stayed after and got to talk with some of the BYU plays and listen to the couch say a few words. BYU won which of course made it that much better. Looking forward to more games as a family!

Riding Bikes

Over the weekend we got to enjoy the company of Josh's dad, his brother Michael, and a family friend Mikila. They came to go watch 2 different basketball games. They went Thursday night to San Francisco and Josh was able to go with them to see BYU play. Then Saturday afternoon we all joined them and we to the BYU game. However Friday we got to spend half the day with Josh's dad.
He and the kids had a pillow fight for a little while then we ate lunch and headed to the park. Having family come and visit is so much fun. The kids loving seeing their grandparents, aunts and uncles.
We walked do to the park. Payton and Scarlett however rode their bikes. We were very shocked that they both rode the entire time and never complained. They are getting to old!!!
Grandpa and Scarlett. He had to help her a little down curbs cause she had no clue that the side walk has edges.
Josh and Payton waiting for us to catch up. Payton and Scarlett hardly ever ride their bikes outside. Actually Scarlett never has until this time. They usually ride around in the house. That will end soon and they will only be allowed outside with their bikes.

The both rode back home about half way then they were tired out. We let them get into the stroller and they enjoyed that also.
It was a very beautiful day and a fun few days to have family in town. The kids definitely enjoyed playing games with grandpa, Michael, and Mikila. Can't wait to see them all again soon.
