Monterey Aquarium

A few weeks ago we had the privilege of getting to go to Monterey with some of our friends. There was us, the Drinkwater Family, and Toutai Family. We had such a wonderful time. We got a hotel for Friday night. The kids and I got to drive down with the Drinkwater Family since Josh was just going to meet us down there once he got off work. We got down there and the Toutai's got there shortly after us. The kids were SO excited. They ran back and forth between two of the rooms for about and hour. I think they were just so glad to be out of the car and were so excited to be at a hotel with their friends. We ordered  pizza that night then headed down to the pool and hot tub. The kids loved the water. Everyone got in the pool except Me, Krista, Mel, Josh and Scar. The rest were crazy because it was too cold! We all though did love the hot tub. We just sat in there and relaxed it was so nice!
I wasn't sure if Scar would like the hot water, but she really didn't mind. Near the end we let her stand on her own by the stairs and she loved the freedom. She would climb out then climb back in.
Payton was the last to get in the hot tub. He refused for a really long time saying it was too hot. Finally near the end when he was really freezing he got in the hot tub and refused to get out. He loved it once he got it!
I had left Scar's swim diapers in the car Josh had and he hadn't gotten to us until after we were already down swimming in the pool, so I just kept Scar's regular diaper on her under her swimsuit. As you can see from this picture the diaper was huge after about and hour and a half of being in the water. The best part was when we got into the hotel room to get her cleaned off the diaper had exploded in her swimsuit.  If you have seen an exploded diaper you know how nasty they are. It got everywhere. I felt kind of bad cause the sink got a little clogged. After swimming our friends got a call from their  home security people and they were told that their house had got broken into. That was not a fun situation for them. Luckily they only stole their laptop. They almost decided to leave and head back home, but thankful they decided to just stay.
Saturday morning we woke up and got ready for our day at the Monterey Aquarium and the Beach.
Walking to the Aquarium on Cannery Row
Getting our tickets!
The kids had a lot of fun looking at all the different animals. Payton was done of course after about 30 minutes. Scarlett had to desire to stay in the stroller. She just wanted to be out and run free.
Octopus
Scarlett was trying to get the fish. It was very cute to watch!
Payton and Mo pushing buttons.
Scar wasn't sure about this thing in the wall.
Scarletts first time touching a star fish. Payton refused to touch anything in the water.
Jelly Fish
Sea Horse
Scarlett was so happy to be able to run free
Another Sea Horse
I can never get a good picture of Payton
My family does not look at the camera when I am trying to take pictures.
These two just sat on the ground for a while and played with these rocks that were glued to this statue of a cow
Payton inside a tunnel looking at the sea turtles
Can't do anything without a wrestling match occurring. Payton and Scarlett do this daily!
The kiddos with the Penguin Statue
This little girl makes the funniest faces!
In the kids area they had this little trampoline and Scarlett LOVED it. She would just run around, fall, roll, and didn't care if there was other kids in her way. She thinks she is such big stuff!
Payton with this funny Sea Horse costume.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium was a fun experience! It was a ton of fun being able to enjoy that with our friends!

Scarlett's Birthday

On Scarlett's birthday we kept it low key. We all woke up before Josh went to work and Payton insisted on Scar opening some gifts so we let her open a couple. During that day we just hung out and the kids got to play. That night We made homemade pizza for dinner. We got my parents and my sister on Skype so they could watch her open the rest of her gifts and to watch her eat her cake.
She got her first Barbie
Payton gave her these to little pillow pets. They are not officially pillow pets they are knock offs but she still likes them.
Hanging out with Payton watching cartoons
Loving her pizza for dinner
More present. She got clothes, dolls, a stroller for her doll
CAKE TIME!
She wasn't sure about the blowing out the candle
Yummy!
Payton even got in on the fun and enjoyed his cake!
Crazy Messy! She loved it so it's worth the clean up.

Scarlett is Our BIG 1 Year Old

I know everyone says this, but really 'where has the time gone'! I feel like I just brought this little girl home. I can NOT believe she is 1! The time went by way to fast, especially these last 3 months. Scarlett  has grown and changed so much in the last 3 months. She went from crawling to walking all over. She is now running. She tries to do everything Payton does. She climbs on everything, bounces on her chair, loves Dora, and tries to mimic everything we say. She does say momma, dadda, almost says thank you and uh..oh. She understands a lot when we talk to her. She loves her big brother Payton. She definitely can hold her own with him. We call her the sippy cup thief because if she finds a sippy cup she is all over it. She will suck it down especially if its juice.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCARLETT!!!
