Christmas with the Cambra Family

While my family was here for New Years we got to exchange our christmas gifts.
Payt, Grammy, Scar and Uncle Jared.
Scar opening a gift from her uncle
Payt opening one of his gifts
Scar was kind of getting how to open gifts at this point.
Payton in his new hat from grandma and grandpa
 More gift opening
Josh got some BYU shirts from my sister
He also got some Kings tickets from my parents.
While my family was here we got to enjoy visiting with both my grandmas. It was a very nice visit. They came and had lunch at our house. We got to just sit and visit with them while Scar and Payt enjoying their great grandmas. Scar fell asleep so they both just got to sit and hold her. I am pretty sure they both really enjoyed that!
This is my grandma Tannie (Cambra) This is my dads mom.
This is my grandma Sam (Crane) This is my moms mom. She and Payton played Hungry Hippos. He loved all the attention.
Jared and Daniel with their grandmas

Payton with his great grandma Crane. He really isn't very good at taking pictures some times.
Payton and Scarlett playing the duck game. Payton gets mad because Scarlett doesn't play right and she eats the ducks.

Crab Hunt

It was so fun having my family here for New Years. We DEFINITELY missed Stef, Dawson, and Sofia!!!
On new years eve we went to Half Moon Bay in search of some fresh crab. All growing up our family would try to get fresh crab at least once a year. My dad is the one who introduced my mom to it and they have just continued it on to us kids. Each of us have our own opinion of it of course. My dad is a die hard crab snob, he spends most the night at the table picking out his crab making a big pile and enjoying every bite. Then there is my husband Josh, he enjoys the crab but thinks its a lot of work to pick it all out. (if you know Josh though this isn't very surprising, he is kind of lazy) Me on the other hand really enjoy crab and will sit at the table for quite a while with my dad, but I just don't eat as much as him. Then you have my brothers, they will usually try some and not eat very much. My dad always makes some kind of pasta with the meal knowing my brothers will need something else to eat because there is no way they will fill up on the crab, salad, and bread. Josh usually eats the pasta also. I do have to say they are getting better at eating more of the crab and enjoying it now that they have come back from their missions. So over the years when my dad would go and buy the crab he would usually go kind of early and would drive to the ocean to buy it fresh. It just became a 'guy thing'. My mom, sister, and I never went, but this year we decided we would all go. It was fun. We had no clue that my dad went all they way down to the boats and found someone selling the crab from his boat. It was pretty neat and exciting. Payton thought it was fun, but was afraid of the crabs bitting him.
Josh, Scarlett, Daniel, Jacie, Mom, Dad, Jared, and Payton All right at the boat where we bought the crab from the guy.
The Robertson family and their first official crab hunt. It was a success and I hope we can continue to make it a tradition in our home.
Jared thinking I am a 'freak' cause  I was pretending to eat the crab. Payton didn't like me doing this.
Our bag with 7 live crabs. Payton wouldn't get any closer than this.
My brother Daniel and his girlfriend Jacie
Walking back from the boat
Josh with the kids. So CUTE!
We got the crab a nice comfy spot for the car ride home. Unfortunately they didn't all last, but some did.
I just love this picture of Payton and Josh walking back to our car. Obviously, 'like father, like son'! They are so cute together. Payton just adores Josh and wants to be like his dad!

Christmas Day

Christmas Day at the Robertson home is definitely not quiet, organized, or boring. It's exactly what christmas morning should be like!!! We had a really nice time with family on christmas morning. That morning was crazy and it was only us a family of 4, another Robertson family of 6, Josh's parents, 3 of Josh's brothers, and 2 sisters. Santa definitely came to grandma and grandpa's house. All the kids got spoiled.  We let all the little kids take turns opening their gifts first, then they left the room and played with their toys while all the adults got their turn of opening their gifts.
Scarlett and Payton's pile of gifts
Payton digging through this stocking of goodies that Santa left for him
Showing me his Zoo Zoo pet he got.
Scarlett enjoying the mess all the gift opening makes.
Scarlett loves Dora. Anytime she hears Dora on the TV she will turn and watch for quite a while. Sometimes she even laughs.
When we originally asked Payton what he wanted Santa to bring him he said, "a yellow remote control thing". We asked him all types of questions trying to figure out what he was talking about. He said it wasn't a car and it wasn't a person. We finally asked him where he saw it and who he was with and he said at that store we went to with Mom, Dad and Scarlett. We asked him if it was Target or Walmart and he said NO. We were stumped for a while. Finally when Josh and I were talking one night about it and trying to figure it out Josh remembered.  He found it online and the next morning once Payton woke up I showed him the picture on the computer and he said. "Yeah thats what I want"!! The thing is we saw this at a little Toys R Us store back in October. He had said he wanted it but we told him he had to wait till christmas and ask Santa. Well, he has an amazing memory!!!
When he started opening the gifts from Santa Payton began getting discouraged. He started insisting that he didn't get the remote control crane that he had been asking for. We kept saying he wasn't done and there were still some gifts in his pile but he wouldn't listen. Finally his cousin Jaydn said, "Payt maybe its this one" as he pointed to the big box. Payton was excited he said, "yeah its that one, I knew I would get the remote control crane". He couldn't even hold back ripping it open. He was so excited I know neither of these pictures show that but trust me he was.
Scarlett finally has her own chair. This was a  definitely needed gift. She and Payton have been fighting over his car chair ever since she started crawling months ago.
Josh open one of his gifts!
Me and Scarlett. Her first princess look.
The craziness of everyone taking turns and opening the gifts from under the christmas tree.
Payton's cousins Maddy, Olivia, Ella, and Jaydn got these John Deer cars from their parents. They had a fun time driving them around in the backyard.
Once we were home I had to get a picture of these two on their chairs. They are just too cute!!!
