Trunk or Treat

Through all our costume digging Payton found his monkey costume from 2 years ago! He insisted on wearing it around the house. It was pretty funny looking because obviously it's too small for him. He loved wearing it though.
Scarlett once again in her shark costume ready to be dragged to another Halloween event.
Saturday night before Halloween our church had a trunk or treat party. We were a little late cause Josh had to work but we had a really fun time. Josh and I got dressed in our costumes again since we had taken the time to figure them out this year. We wanted to make sure we got lots of use out of them.
Josh and Payton ready for the party!
Mal and Payton ready to go!
 Scarlett and Josh.
This is the one and only picture we were able to get of all of us dressed up in our costumes. Seriously kids do NOT cooperate for pictures!
We invited out friends Lyn and her kids to come with us. They came last year and really enjoyed it so we knew they would love to come again. Lyn brought with her her mother in law, sister in law and nephew. I believe they had a good time also.
Josh being Josh and Trevor just waiting for the trunk or treat to start.
I didn't get any pictures of the actual trunk or treating, but I got this one of Payton right before it all started. The kids got to go around and get candy from all the cars. They had fun and got lots of candy.
After we got home a snapped a few pictures of Scarlett trying to show her cute little bow she did have on her costume so people knew she was a girl shark!
Halloween was a lot of fun this year. The kids had fun. I really had fun watching the excitement on our kids face! Next year will be even more fun cause Scarlett will be able to walk around with her brother.

Pumpkin Carving and Party Time!

This is actually the first time we carved pumpkins as a family. I really don't love the mess and the nastiness in the pumpkins. But this year we got some free pumpkins from a friend so I figured it was the best time to introduce the fun to Payton.
We bought the carving tools and a little book with different faces that you could draw onto the pumpkin and then carve it.
Josh helped Payton clean out his pumpkin and get is paper of the face he wanted all set up on his pumpkin. Payton just sat there and colored for quite sometime while Josh worked on his own pumpkin.
I took on the challenge of doing Scarletts pumpkin and my own. Once it was clean I let Scarlett see what it was all about. She really wasn't very impressed.
I am sure she thought this is nasty and slimy!
Josh and Payton working very hard on their pumpkins
Payton doing such a good job coloring in the dots for his face
I have never used the fun little tools that you can buy at the store and I was SO impressed at how much easier it was to carve a pumpkin and even clean it out. I remember as a kid I would do some of the cleaning out and then complain that I couldn't do anymore so my dad would finish cleaning it for me. Also the whole papers that have different faces on them make that so nice. As a kid we were very limited to what we could carve because it would just be the basic shapes. I actually enjoyed carving pumpkins this year! CRAZY!
Once we finished Payton was very excited to see that we could put a candle in the pumpkin and then the faces would glow in the dark.
 All set up outside!
Patyon with the pumpkins. The order from the left is Paytons, Scarletts, Joshs and Mals.
We tried to get a picture with the kids holding their pumpkins but as you can see that didn't work very well. Scarlett just wanted to crawl away.
 Payt enjoying his pumpkin
Payton and Mal with the pumpkins
You can see the pumpkins a little better here since it was day time when we took this picture.

The weekend of Halloween we got to go to a Halloween party at our friends house. We all had to dress up in costume. It took Josh and I forever to figure out what we were going to be. We had the kids costumes about a month in advance so they were done! Payton and Scarlett were both Sharks. Josh was a football player and Mal was a homecoming queen.
Mal and Scarlett enjoying the party! She's such a cute little shark.
At the party the kids got to hit a pineota so this is a picture of Josh and Scarlett waiting for one of the kids to smash it open.
All the kids ready for someone to break this pineota open so they could get some candy.
Payton did wear is costume to the party but after an hour of playing in the house and running around he was so sweaty that he had to take the costume off.
Austin was a monster from the movie Monsters Inc. He was so cute because you could barely see him in that costume!
We let all the kids have two different tries at attempting to break open the pineota, but when you have a party and the oldest kid is 5 and the rest are 4, 3, 2 and 8 months they are not capable of hitting the pineota hard enough to even make a dent. By that point we decided to let all the adults get one swing. We made it through all 6 of us and it just need 1 more good hit to completely break it open.
We let Krista have the honor of that last hit.
The kids all getting their candy. I have never seen kids so SLOW about picking up the candy! They were funny!
An attempt at a kid group shot once the candy was all picked up.

Dell'Osso Family Farm

A few weeks ago we went as a family to the Dell'Osso Family Farm. A week before we went as a family I had taken the kids with some friends and their kids, so Payton was very excited to show his dad around. He also knew that when we went as a family he would be able to do a few more things.
Climbing up the tower of tires.
Showing Josh how to climb up.
Payton was very excited to go on the Hay Ride again. He was excited that Josh got to come with us this time. He was very concerned that it wouldn't go too fast.
Payton would not smile for any pictures.
Neither one are obviously very good at smiling for the camera

Payton loved this play structure that he got to play on. I couldn't believe he could do these things all by himself. Last year he wouldn't even get near these things.
Needed a little help from daddy!
Scarlett didn't love being in the stroller the whole time, but she couldn't get out.
They had these giant balloon/ pillow type things that you could go and jump on. Last year Payton wouldn't even consider trying this and this year he said daddy lets go on that. I was very impressed. He loved it.

My cute men walking around
Feeding the animals is always fun! Actually thats my least favorite part. I refuse to feed them. Payton loved it. He thought it was funny!

All these animals are such beggars!

After a fun morning we went and enjoyed some lunch as a family and brought the kids home for their afternoon naps. After they woke up they watched Dora on the computer. Scarlett is so funny cause as soon as she hears Dora she looks around to watch. Thats the one show she will watch for a little bit. She of course had to sit on the chair with Payton.
They are so cute!
Then after dinner we got them both in the tub.
Scarlett is crazy cause she stands all the time in the tub. We have to watch her like a hawk when she's in the tub. Payton is really good with her. They both splash each other, it's very cute!
We had a fun family day!
