Payton and Ryan's Birthday Party

Last friday my friend Krista and I had a combined birthday party for her oldest son Ryan who turned 5 and for my Payt who turned 3. Their birthdays are a day apart and we figured that since we would invite all the same people this would save everyone from having to go to two birthday parties. We did a little costume party and went along the theme of Halloween. We did it out in my garage and drive way on a Friday night. We had about 30 people total and about half of that was kids! It was actually not too crazy. Everyone got along and no one got hurt.
The weather wasn't my ideal cause you would think that if you had a party in the evening and in October it would be cool, but no not here it was like 85 degrees. I thought it was hot! The kids didn't seem to mind. They all had so much fun running around and playing with each other.
That afternoon before the party I made some cupcakes and Payt wanted to help. As you can see he loved licking the bowl. I figured whatever he's the birthday boy. He loved it!
All set up for the party.
Ryan and Payton waiting for all their friends to come.
Payton and Austin messing with the pumpkins before the party started.
Payton, Austin and Ryan. Ready for the party to begin!
 Finally friends are here!
The kids loved playing with the balloons. They loved even more watching them pop on the grass.
Taking a break to get a drink!
We had the kids fish for prizes! They all seemed to enjoy this game. We also did pumpkin bowling but I didn't get a picture of that since I was helping with the fishing game.
PRESENT TIME!!! Every kids favorite part!
 presents...presents...
 and MORE presents!
Trying to get the kids all settled to sing 'Happy Birthday'
Payton was very excited, but this picture doesn't really show that
The candles all blown out. I love that Ryan is just sitting there patently waiting for his turn!
 What a yummy cupcake!
Hurray! One last present for each of them!

The party was so much fun. Payton and Ryan both loved it! I am just so grateful for all my friends for coming and joining in on the celebration. Payton really loved all his gifts. He was very excited that all his friends could come!
That night after the party Payton and Josh opened everything and got it all out. They played with each one for a little bit. So the next morning my house was a mess and Payton's presents were everywhere. Played for a long time with all his toys and games.
But of course while playing he had to watch TV.
I am not really sure if he even got dressed this day.
Payton and play dough is a little frustrating because he combines all the colors, but he loves it so I just have to let him. He has been playing with everything ever since. What a spoiled lucky boy!

I love Projects!

I LOVE doing projects! I know many people don't agree with me on this, but I just feel so much more accomplished when I do all these things. I am always thinking of new things to do. Recently Josh made a bookshelf for a small area between a closet and the stairs. I of course wanted to paint before he built the bookshelf. I actually painted when both kids were awake. Payton was a good little helper. I had to give him a few rules of course, but nothing to terrible occurred. The project got finished and I am very happy with it.
I forgot to take a picture before I painted, but this is once it was painted.

My cute little painting buddy

Payton loves taking pictures with the camera! He obviously wanted a picture of himself.
Half the bookshelf  put in
Getting it all built in
Josh working hard and doing an amazing job like always
Payton being silly of course.
It's in...
 And completely filled
I painted all the cream color, yellow and brown. I really like it, but it makes me want to do more. I am just not ready to take that challenge on yet.

A visit from Grandpa

Last weekend we had a special visit from my dad. He was in town for business and after he was done he came and stayed with us for 2 days. After we picked him up we stopped in and surprised my grandma. My dad wanted to take her out for her birthday. She is 92!
Scarlett was in charge of the handicap sign. This was our ticket to front row parking at the restaurant.

Great Grandma getting her to laugh
Payt was being a little stinker and wouldn't let me get a picture of him with great grandma
Instead he just stole her cane and played with it in the yard.
These are pictures that Payton took. It's kind of funny to see what he sees. Grandpa is really tall!
Obviously my grandma and I are not as tall as my dad.

After spending lots of time with Great Grandma we headed home and Payton got to open some presents. This one is from my good friend since she wasn't going to be able to make it to the party.
He loved it. He got a tee-ball set and some GI Joes.
Next were his presents from Grandma and Grandpa Cambra. He got a soccer ball AND....
Waiting for the main present from his grandparents...
Unveiling...
WHAT IS IT!!!...
A BUZZ LIGHTYEAR BIKE!!! He has been wanting this since he saw it in the store 2 months ago!
The next day we got to play and just enjoy having grandpa at our house.  Payton and Grandma played their own game of 'lets throw all the cards at each other'. Payton loved it!!!
It's always fun when grandpa comes!!!
